Hostinger Review 2026: Plans, UK Prices, Pros and Cons

If you’re searching for a straight Hostinger review before handing over your card details, this one is for you. I run my own websites on Hostinger, including AIDailyShift itself (the site’s server headers show Hostinger’s platform, its hPanel control panel and a LiteSpeed web server), so I’ve kept this practical: what you get in 2026, what it really costs once the intro deal ends, how good it is for WordPress, and when you’d be better off elsewhere.
I’ve rewritten this review from scratch for 2026, because Hostinger’s plans, prices and tools have changed a lot since the first version. All prices are from Hostinger’s UK website. Prices checked October 2026. I haven’t included speed-test figures, because they vary so much from site to site that they’d be misleading.

Quick verdict: is Hostinger good?
Yes, for most personal sites, blogs, small businesses and WordPress beginners, Hostinger is one of the best-value hosts you can buy in the UK. You get LiteSpeed servers, caching, free SSL, staging, backups, email and 24/7 support at a very low entry price.
The two things to go in with your eyes open about are renewal prices (much higher than the headline rate) and paying upfront for long terms.
- Best for: beginners, bloggers, affiliate and content sites, small business and WordPress sites.
- Price: from £1.49/month (Single, 48 months), with the more popular Premium at £2.39/month, renewing at £10.99/month.
- Money-back guarantee: 30 days.
- Look elsewhere if: you need fully managed enterprise WordPress, or you expect cheap pricing to last forever without committing to a long term.
Hostinger plans and UK prices (October 2026)
Hostinger’s web hosting now comes in four main tiers. The headline prices are for a 48-month term and are paid upfront. The monthly figure is just the total divided by 48.
Plan Intro price (48 months) Paid upfront Renews at Websites Storage Backups Single £1.49/month £71.52 £7.99/month 1 10 GB SSD Weekly Premium £2.39/month £114.72 £10.99/month 3 20 GB SSD Weekly Unlimited £3.29/month £157.92 £13.99/month Unlimited 50 GB NVMe Daily, with easy restore Cloud Startup £7.99/month £383.52 £20.99/month Unlimited 100 GB NVMe Daily and on demand
Every plan includes WordPress, a CDN, AI tools and a one-time allowance of AI credits (250 on Single and Premium, 500 on Unlimited, 1,000 on Cloud Startup). Premium and above include a free domain for the first year. Email is included too: one mailbox on Single, two per website on Premium, and unlimited mailboxes on Unlimited and Cloud Startup (free for the first year).
Hostinger’s plan comparison also lists the server resources behind each tier. Premium gets 1 CPU core, 2 GB RAM and 40 PHP workers. Unlimited gets 2 cores, 3 GB RAM and 60 PHP workers. Cloud Startup gets 4 cores, 4 GB RAM and 100 PHP workers. PHP workers matter if your site has lots of logged-in users, a busy WooCommerce shop or heavy plugins.
What about renewals?
This is where every budget host makes its money, and Hostinger is no exception. Premium jumps from £2.39 to £10.99 a month at renewal, and Unlimited from £3.29 to £13.99. My advice:
- Take the longest term you’re comfortable with to lock in the intro rate for as long as possible.
- Put the renewal date in your calendar so it doesn’t surprise you.
- Compare the renewal price, not just the intro price, when you look at other hosts.
VPS hosting
If you outgrow shared or cloud hosting, Hostinger’s KVM VPS plans start at £4.99/month (KVM 1: 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe), renewing at £10.99/month. VPS gives you root access and full control, but you’re responsible for managing the server, so it’s best for developers.
Is Hostinger good for WordPress?
For most WordPress sites, yes, and Hostinger notes that it is recommended by WordPress.org. Here’s what you get on the WordPress side.
Speed: LiteSpeed, caching and NVMe
- LiteSpeed web servers with Hostinger’s smart caching, code minification and automatic image optimisation.
- Object Cache support, which helps database-heavy WordPress sites.
- NVMe storage on Unlimited and Cloud Startup (Single and Premium use SSD).
- A built-in CDN and a global network of data centres, so you can host closer to your visitors.
- AI Website Optimizer, which Hostinger says can make WordPress sites faster with automatic tweaks.
Speed still depends on your theme, plugins and images, so good hosting is only half the job. My website speed for SEO guide covers the other half.
Staging, backups and developer tools
- One-click staging lets you test theme or plugin changes on a copy of your site before they go live.
- Backups: weekly on Single and Premium, daily on Unlimited, and daily plus on demand on Cloud Startup. If your site changes every day, Unlimited’s daily backups are worth the extra.
- Developer tools: WP-CLI, SSH access, Git integration and PHP version control.
- Free migrations: Hostinger offers unlimited free website migrations, and says most are completed in under five minutes.
Security and SSL
- Free SSL certificates are set up automatically.
- A web application firewall (WAF) to block attacks before they reach your site.
- Automatic malware removal and DDoS mitigation, with enhanced DDoS protection on higher-tier plans.
Email and support
You get business email with your plan, as covered above. Support is available 24/7, and Hostinger lists priority 24/7 expert support on its plans. There’s also Hostinger Agent, an AI assistant built into the dashboard for quick answers and common tasks. Hostinger backs its hosting with a 99.9% uptime guarantee and 24/7 monitoring.
hPanel and Hostinger’s AI tools
Hostinger uses its own control panel, hPanel, instead of cPanel. It’s clean and beginner-friendly: domains, email, WordPress, backups, SSL and DNS all live in one place. If you’ve used cPanel for years it takes a little getting used to, but most people find it simpler.
The AI tools are now a big part of Hostinger’s pitch:
- AI website builder for WordPress: generates a starter WordPress site for you, using Elementor or the Block editor.
- AI Website Troubleshooter: helps find and fix common WordPress errors.
- AI Website Optimizer: applies performance tweaks.
- llms.txt generation: Hostinger says it auto-generates an llms.txt file to help AI search tools understand your site. If that interests you, see my guide to generative engine optimisation.
- AI Builder: Hostinger’s non-WordPress site and app builder with a Manual editor and an Agentic mode where you describe what you want.
The AI Builder deserves its own article, so I’ve written one: read my full Hostinger AI Website Builder review and tutorial for prices, the 14-day free trial and a step-by-step walkthrough.

- One-click staging, WP-CLI, SSH and Git on standard plans
- Free SSL, WAF, malware removal and DDoS mitigation

Cons
- Renewal prices are several times the intro rate

Who Hostinger suits (and who should look elsewhere)
Hostinger is a great fit if you:
- are launching your first website or blog
- run WordPress content, affiliate or small business sites (Premium or Unlimited)
- want hosting, email and a domain in one place
- manage several sites and want unlimited websites on one plan
- want room to grow into cloud or VPS with the same company
Consider another host if you:
- run a large, high-traffic or mission-critical store and want fully managed hosting with dedicated account support
- need cPanel specifically for your workflow
- want to pay month to month without a big renewal jump
- need guaranteed resources and are comfortable managing a server yourself (look at VPS, at Hostinger or elsewhere)
Hostinger alternatives
I haven’t listed prices here, because they change constantly. Check each host’s current renewal rates before deciding.
- SiteGround: a popular WordPress host with a strong reputation for support.
- Kinsta: premium managed WordPress hosting for businesses that want hands-off performance and support, at premium prices.
- 20i: a UK-based host that’s popular with agencies and resellers.
- IONOS: a large European host with UK pricing, domains and email.
- Cloudways: managed cloud servers for people who want more control without running a VPS themselves.
